Nine Rules for Working with Creatives

From Geoff Surratt:

  1. Many creatives do not function well (or at all) at 8:00 a.m. Let them work 2:00 p.m until 3:00 a.m if they  need to.
  2. There is a good chance creatives want to paint their office purple and work with only a lava lamp for light. Let them.
  3. Give creatives space where they can be REALLY LOUD or really quiet, depending on their field or personality. Don’t give administrators keys to this space.
  4. Buy creatives new toys when you can. They need new toys. The don’t need all the new toys they think they need, but occasionally they need something shiny.
