Throwaway Sundays

Did you offer your absolute best yesterday? Or did you treat it as a throwaway Sunday?

If you treated it as a throwaway, what does that communicate to the people who visited yesterday? What about to the people who show up every week? What does it say about your view of your work and your overall mission?

I believe that if we really believe in the importance of our mission, we will never throw away a ministry opportunity — whether that’s Easter Sunday or the Sunday after Easter, Christmas Eve or mid-week in the middle of winter, Fall Kickoff or Spring Break.

If you’re gonna throw the day away anyway, you might as well just keep the building closed. That way, at least everyone can sleep in.
