Splashes and Tides

Some leaders look for the big splash. Sometimes it’s out of desperation — the Hail Mary — and sometimes it’s just because that’s how the leader is wired.

A big splash can certainly make a big impression. But lasting impact requires more than a big splash; it requires a changing of the tide. On the surface, a tide change is much less obvious and exciting. But it is far more potent over the long term, as it results from the power of gravitational force — a truly global, massively powerful shift in orientation. You don’t “see” the tide changing, but you certainly see its impact.

Are you looking to create a splash when what you really need is a turning of the tide?
