That Introvert Thing Again

Late last week, Jon Acuff over at Stuff Christians Like began a post entitled “10 most awkward moments introverts experience at church.” The catch is that Jon actually let his readers contribute via the comment section. In fact, as of this writing there have been an astounding 1,038 comments in answer to Jon’s question.

I have written before about introverts and their experience in church. Whether you are an introvert or extrovert (especially if you are an extrovert in a leadership role), I urge you to read the comments posted on Jon’s blog so that you can understand what introverts experience at church. They may be in the social minority, but they (we!) have much to contribute to the life of your church, to ministry and to the kingdom.

I just finished reading Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking. What a fascinating read! I highly recommend it for introverts and extroverts alike. It says, for example, that introverts are often misunderstood as not liking to be with people. So very wrong. They (we) just prefer interactions that lend themselves to deep, meaningful interactions.
